THE STORY
Hamburgo dates back to 1983, precisely 40 years ago, owing to
the entrepreneurial and visionary spirit of António de Almeida e
Silva and Maria Amélia Pinto Pereira.
Emigrated in Hamburg, in Germany, the couple decided to
return to their homeland, Portugal, and open what would
become one of the most iconic restaurants in the city of Porto,
focusing on francesinha as their main dish.
Created from scratch by the original owners, the sauce recipe
remained secret and unchanged for 40 years.
The sophistication and distinctive quality of this dish quickly
gained recognition among the local population, leading to an
increase in the restaurant's clientele.
THE LEGACY
Years later, the original owners chose to give the business key to
their middle son, Ricardo Paulo Pinto de Almeida. Maintaining
the family's core values in the business, he expanded the
establishment in partnership with his wife, Sónia Almeida. They
significantly increased the production capacity while always
preserving his mother's original recipe.
Nowadays, the restaurant is managed by the third generation,
Ricardo and Sónia's son, named Daniel Ângelo Lima de Almeida.
He continues to uphold the pillars and fundamental principles
while expanding the business and increasing its profitability.
Almeida family has dedicated their lives with pride and pleasure
to this business, surpassing expectations and exponentially
growing it.
Daniel Almeida aims to take this unique dish worldwide.
